It’s Summertime and Taking The Train Is Easy
WILLIAMS, ARIZ. – June 19, 2018 – The Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel just announced sizzling summer savings, family-friendly itineraries and a range of memorable experiences on the classic rails that connect Williams, Arizona on historic Route 66 to the fabled South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Spend quality time together while avoiding delays, snarled highways, circling the parking lot for hours, detours, closures, crowds, road improvements and more nuisances and ride the Grand Canyon Railway, which drops you off on the edge of one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World.
For starters, round trip summer fares onboard the Grand Canyon Railway will start at just $32 for children/$67 for adults in Pullman Class, and $51 for children/$82 for adults in Coach Class. Passengers can choose from a total of six classes of rail service: Pullman Class, Coach Class, First Class, Observation Dome, Luxury Dome, and Luxury Parlor Class. All classes welcome children aside from Luxury Dome and Parlor, which are reserved for passengers 15-years-old and older. No matter the class booked, visitors of all ages will enjoy the “ways of the west” all the way to the Grand Canyon and back — with wild west shootouts, roaming musicians who serenade passengers, attendants who bestow historic knowledge, and even an old-fashioned train robbery.
The train departs daily at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. from Williams, Arizona and travels due north through ponderosa pine forests and scenic desert landscapes, to the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. After a day in the Canyon, the train leaves the Grand Canyon Depot at 3:30 p.m., returning to the Williams Depot at 5:45 p.m.
Visitors looking to extend the trip beyond the Railway can take advantage of the Canyon Discovery Package. Enjoy a 2-night getaway to the canyon, where you can bundle and save 10%. The package includes round-trip train travel from Williams, AZ to the Grand Canyon, with personalized service and entertainment; a guide-narrated 1.5 hour motor coach rim tour to scenic points along the Grand Canyon’s South Rim; two nights in Williams at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel, which is designed to resemble the century-old train depot that housed the original Fray Marcos Hotel and sits adjacent to the train depot; and two breakfasts and dinners at the Grand Depot Cafe, located next to the hotel. Total package price before tax is, $814.58.
For families seeking more time in the Grand Canyon, the Canyon Discovery Plus package offers the ideal itinerary. Included are the same great offerings found in the Canyon Discovery Package, plus an overnight stay at the Maswik Lodge North, a modern facility spread over several acres of ponderosa pine forest, located within walking distance from the Canyon’s edge and historic Grand Canyon Village. Much of the Village was built in the early 1900s by the railroad, and here, you can find landmark buildings like El Tovar, Hopi House, Lookout Studio, the Bright Angel trailhead and more. Total package price before tax is, $974.47.
